The Campus Law Centre (CLC) of Delhi University has announced the 1st Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) Research Paper Writing Competition for 2026, offering law students a platform to engage deeply in contemporary legal research and academic writing. This competition is being organized by the ADR Society, Campus Law Centre in association with corporate legal partners based in New Delhi.
Theme of the Competition
The focus of this unique academic event is “Contemporary Challenges in International Commercial Arbitration in India”, a subject of growing importance as ADR mechanisms play increasingly central roles in global and domestic dispute resolution. Arbitration, mediation, and other ADR modes are reshaping how legal conflicts are resolved outside traditional courtrooms — making this topic highly relevant for future legal professionals.
Who Can Participate
The competition is open to all bona fide students enrolled in full-time LL.B. programmes (3-year and 5-year) at recognized law universities or institutions across India. Participation is entirely free of cost, and students are welcome to submit papers either individually or as joint authors (up to two writers per entry).
Why This Matters
This competition is more than a writing exercise. It encourages students to:
- Develop research and analytical skills in a specialized area of law.
- Explore the practical and theoretical challenges facing international commercial arbitration.
- Connect academic theory with real-world legal issues affecting India’s dispute resolution landscape.
- Contribute to scholarly discussion on ADR, which is increasingly shaping legal practice both domestically and abroad.
By participating, students can strengthen their legal writing profile — an asset for career paths in litigation, corporate law, arbitration practice, and academic research. The competition also fosters critical thinking and provides a space for emerging legal minds to express innovative perspectives on complex legal frameworks.
Aspiring participants are encouraged to review the detailed submission guidelines and sub-themes in the official brochure, and to reach out to the organizing committee at adrresearchpaperclc@gmail.com for queries or clarifications.
